Water systems
Plastic coatings have long been used with success in pipelines and fittings. The protective layer applied by the fluidized bed coating process resists highly corrosive stresses.
The coatings have superior physical properties:
- high mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and elasticity-even at low temperatures
- high resistance, even in warm (70°C) and detergent-containing water
- very good resistance to greases, oils, hydraulic fluids, and other components
- excellent stress crack resistance
- no surface fouling (microbiological test according to Working Specification W 270 of the German Association of Gas and Water (DVGW)
Typical applications of VESTOSINT® in water systems are:
- pipes and fittings
- cooling water lines in marine construction
- clarification plant and power plant lines
Numerous power plants have long used VESTOSINT®-coated pipes with great success.
